The unmet clinical needs being pursued by NUA Surgical were identified during the BioInnovate Ireland Fellowship. Validated by clinicians around the globe, our innovative solutions are designed with all key stakeholders in mind. NUA Surgical are developing a novel medical device in obstetrics to reduce the risk of surgical complications.
There are many challenges facing obstetricians when performing a caesarean delivery. The safety of mother and baby are of utmost importance. Our goal is to reduce the risk of surgical complications by providing user friendly technologically advanced medical devices.
Based in NUI Galway, the team were awarded an Enterprise Ireland Commercialisation Fund in 2018 to bring the project from early stage concept to commercialisation. We plan to spin out of NUI Galway in 2020 under NUA Surgical Limited.
In December 2018, NUA Surgical was selected to take part in the inaugural LaunchPad Lift Powered by Techstars programme. LaunchPad Lift identifies top-performing University start-ups from across the LaunchPad global network of 20 Universities, and pairs them with resources and opportunities to help their ventures succeed.
